Selecting The Right Model

There are many different types of immersion heater so ensuring you choose the correct T-Smart model is important. There are specific models for horizontal and vertical installations. If for any reason you can't find the right model, please contact our technical department on 0121 686 8733 and we'll be happy to assist you.

The first step is to identify your current setup

What thermostat do you have?

Plug-in type or rod thermostat? Not sure on the differences? Please refer to the image. below.

Top Mounted or Side Mounted?

Is your current immersion heater mounted from the side or top of your hot water cylinder?

  • I have a plug-in type thermostat

    Great news! You are able to use the retrofit kit so there is no need to replace the immersion heater however, if you do wish to replace the immersion heater as well, you can do so with model TIHTS476 or TIHTS572.

  • I have a wired rod type thermostat

    If your Immersion has a rod type thermostat you will be required to change the complete immersion as T-Smart is only compatible with a plug-in style immersion. For Immersions with rod type thermostats the T-Smart Upgrade Kit is not compatible. 

    You can select from Models TIHTS476, TIHTS572, TIHTS496 for Horizontal installations or TIHTS650 for vertical installations.
